As the demand for phlebotomists continues to surge, particularly in the competitive job market of San Francisco, the quality of your education is key. Few phlebotomy schools in San Francisco match the reputation and respect that our school commands among local employers. When you enroll at our stunning campus adjacent to the iconic Dragon Gate, you’re not just getting an education but a top-notch curriculum right in the heart of San Francisco’s bustling activity.
When attending phlebotomy courses at our San Francisco campus, students have easy access to many local dining options, coffee shops perfect for quick breaks between classes, and various shopping destinations.
Whether it’s starting their day with a Starbucks coffee at Grant & Bush, exploring diverse lunch options, or savoring Mediterranean delights at Sababa on 329 Kearny St. or Korean street food at Aria Korean Street Food on 932 Larkin St., there’s something to satisfy every palate and preference for our students during their downtime.
A high need for medical professionals was what drove our founder, Simonida Cvejic, to open her first location, Bay Area Medical Academy, in 2004. Before then, California didn’t have standard licenses for phlebotomists. BAMA set the standard, and in 2018, BAMA Institute opened to continue that mission.
Our phlebotomy technician program includes a 60-hour, in-person, classroom portion, followed by a 40-160-hour clinical externship. It is available on three schedules:
Following course completion, you will be eligible for your California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1) / National Certified Phlebotomy Technician credential.
Included in our program is a guaranteed 40-160 hour clinical externship. That will allow you to get the on-the-job training needed to certify and gain top employment. Some of our externship partners include;
