Curriculum for Our Phlebotomy School in San Jose

BAMA Institute is a relatively new phlebotomy school in San Jose, but it benefits from the firm foundation of a highly respected institution. BAMA Institute is the specialized phlebotomy arm of Bay Area Medical Academy, a school founded in 2004 in response to the increasing demand for medical professionals. 

This demand has persisted, prompting us to enhance and expand our programs to meet it. Our phlebotomy technician program includes a 60-hour, in-person, classroom portion, followed by a 40-160-hour clinical externship. It is available on three schedules: 

  • 2-week day intensive class 
  • 5-week weekend class 
  • 3-week evening class

Following course completion, you will be eligible for your California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1) / National Certified Phlebotomy Technician credential. Included in our program is a guaranteed 40-160 hour clinical externship. That will allow you to get the on the job training needed to certify and gain top employment. Some of our externship partners include;
